The bell rings, signaling the start of afterschool for a half million children in the Central Valley. For too many this time is unsupervised, marked by the risks associated with boredom and unstructured time.
The risky behaviors: bullying, drugs, gangs, alcohol, sexual activity, pornography, crime, suicide, and other self-destructive activities.
Central Valley Afterschool Foundation dedicates itself to the sustainability of rewarding afterschool programs, developing a better choice than the risky business that too often occurs during these critical hours. Thousands of elementary, middle school and high school students in our valley have the opportunity to learn, grow and stay safe in a variety of afterschool programs. When the bell rings, students gather, grow, and get inspired with tutoring, dance, art, music, recreational activities, media and technology training, science, and much more.
Join us as we change the course of students who are not maximizing the benefits of out-of-school time. It’s time to help kids enjoy success after the school bell rings.
