FRESNO, Calif. - Research shows that children who lack access to enriching summer learning activities face a number of behavioral risks, a greater potential for weight gain, and they typically experience learning loss over the summer months. To combat these issues, Fresno organizations are collaborating to offer fun, educational resources to benefit local children and youth.

CLOVIS, Calif. – A free Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition for high school students will occur at Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis, Calif., on Wed., Oct. 21, from 4-6 p.m. The competition is one of the free activities happening at the larger Lights On Afterschool event.

FRESNO, Calif.—McLane High School will welcome 100 high school females from the Fresno Unified School District, on Sept. 18-19, for a series of unique empowerment workshops designed to help teenage girls from all backgrounds develop a healthier future. The conference, themed “I Matter,” will offer sessions on: nutrition, physical fitness, appearance, and building relationships.
