Richard Peralta, B.A., Program Development, Director
Richard “Rico” Peralta serves as director of program development for the Central Valley Afterschool Foundation. Rico has supported youth programs in the Central San Joaquin Valley for the last decade, serving in many different capacities over the years: the front lines as a mentor and coach to young leaders; a site coordinator and program director; administrative support as evaluator; and now trainer, coach, and mentor to providers.
Rico feels blessed to have been granted so many opportunities within the field of youth development in out-of-school time, as they have helped him develop a 360 degree perspective on what it takes to create and sustain high quality programs for children and youth. He is proud of the fact that the hands-on experience of launching new programs and revitalizing existing ASES and 21st Century programs have shaped a career that started from the ground up.
Regarded as a middle school and summer program expert, Rico leads CVAF's charge to bolster the development of high quality afterschool programs throughout the Central Valley. Always ready to engage an audience, Rico speaking at youth leadership conferences throughout California. Rico graduated from CSU, Fresno with a bachelor’s degree in history and looks forward to pursuing a postgraduate degree in organizational leadership.
